well, eztv is just reposting from mv group website and the scene standard for 720p and many hd
content is mkv. don't blame eztv, they don't cap the shows or have any control over the formats.

it is very easy to watch them using vlc

mkv are usable files and have been a fairly common standard for high quality videos for several
years now. it only takes a few minutes to find a codec or player to play the files with. search for
cccp to get the combined community codec pack with all the major codecs.

and any video converter had a free version that worked fine last i checked, in case you're like i
was on my old pc and desperately need to downgrade the videos so that your computer can handle it.
