did anyone find this offensive?
as i am a muslim & before i watch it i wanna know will i find it funny or will
it make me wanna throw my shoes at the tv ?
i think it's our god given right to belittle muslims. just my opinion.
thoughts?
it's ignorant trolls like this guy that you learn to ignore.
but anyways to answer the question here's a little summary from tv.com
little mosque on the prairie is a canadian sitcom that focuses on the
comedic outlook of a small muslim community interacting with the citizens of a
little prairie town in canada. the sitcom reveals that although we are different
in ethnicity and in skin color, we are all surprisingly similar when it comes to
family, love, the generation gaps, and our attempts to balance our secular and
religious lives while trying to understand those of others in the community.
looks like it should be a pretty interesting show.
i didn't find it offensive, but rather quite funny (think faulty towers). it's
about a hot-shot canadian ex-lawyer imam taking over a mosque renting out of a
church in a small narrow minded village. so they're making fun of everyone - the
local muslims too (especially the old imam), while still trying to portrait a
modernistic view of american muslims.
in conclusion, it's really quite silly and hopefully shouldn't offend anyone. if
you're a very orthodox muslim, you might want to skip this one, though.

and that is why your penis will never grow bigger than 2 inches.. because you
fail in every conceivable way. kthx.
cbc and great sitcom are opposite words that should never be used together. the
cbc can do great sketch comedy, but not sitcoms. this was very bad, one of the
sad things about canada is the need for sitcoms to show people how to live. i
want escapism and laughs, not politically motivated pap.
scrubs, my lamented arrested development and my name is earl are examples of
great writing. other than the trailer park boys, my country sucks ass in comedic
sitcom development.
i'm a writer and i'm shopping my product in ny and cali because of this reality.
well i just saw the show and from a muslim point of view i didnt see any
offence in this episode and its a good presentation for most of the muslim
population around the world,i live in egypt and we now decide whether its
ramadan or not by astronomical calculations instead of the old way of looking
to the moon,we do develop against what is being supervised by the media.
lastly alsalam alykom.
