i sat down to watch this on sky atlantic expecting a similar experience to the tudors, however i
immediately began comparing this to the game dragon age, which let me tell you is not a bad thing.
being the first episode of a new series i usually go into it expecting the usual introduction and a bit of
background about the characters (which you get) but that doesn't mean it was boring in the slightest. i
understand from reading many of the comments on here that fleshing out characters often bores people,
but it is obviously necessary, by the way i'd ignore the comments solely focused on the nudity. this isn't a
spartacus rejig, it's far better than that. i personally feel that the inclusion of nudity and violence in shows
such as this and boardwalk empire makes it feel more 'real', more like we're actually watching something
based on reality, even if game of thrones is entirely fictional.
in my opinion it's well worth watching for anyone that's a fan of the tudors, lotr, boardwalk empire and
yes of course if you happen to like dragon age 😉
