Game of Thrones S02E01 720p HDTV RM-IMMERSE

ok, so it is now known that the 3gp extenson is an april foosl joke (about 27 hours late here in
oz), but can anyone please tell me if the correct extension for this 720 release is mp4, or mkv.

i've opened the file in linux "mplayer" and these are ones of the lines i've got:

[mkv] track id 1: video (v_mpeg4/iso/avc), -vid 0
[mkv] track id 2: audio (a_ac3), -aid 0, -alang eng
[mkv] will play video track 1.
matroska file format detected.

so... it's an mkv.

ok ive seen some ppl say that its an mp4 and some say that its an mkv.... which is it?

3gp (3gpp file format) is a multimedia container format defined by the third generation partnership
project (3gpp) for 3g umts multimedia services. it is used on 3g mobile phones but can also be
played on some 2g and 4g phones.

3g2 (3gpp2 file format) is a multimedia container format defined by the 3gpp2 for 3g cdma2000
multimedia services. it is very similar to the 3gp file format, but has some extensions and limitations in
comparison to 3gp.

3gp

the 3gp file format stores video streams as mpeg-4 part 2 or h.263 or mpeg-4 part 10 (avc/h.264),
and audio streams as amr-nb, amr-wb, amr-wb+, aac-lc, he-aac v1 or enhanced aacplus (he-aac
v2). 3gpp allowed use of amr and h.263 codecs in the iso base media file format (mpeg-4 part 12),
because 3gpp specified the usage of the sample entry and template fields in the iso base media file
format as well as defining new boxes to which codecs refer. these extensions were registered by the
registration authority for code-points in iso base media file format ("mp4 family" files).[11] [12] for
the storage of mpeg-4 media specific information in 3gp files, the 3gp specification refers to mp4 and
the avc file format, which are also based on the iso base media file format. the mp4 and the avc file
format specifications described usage of mpeg-4 content in the iso base media file format.[8]

a 3gp file is always big-endian, storing and transferring the most significant bytes first.

ok for anyone still stressing over this 3gp "joke" here's what you do.

look at the file and if the file name has .3gp after it simply delete it and replace with .mp4
if the .3gp file extension is not showing at the end of the file name click organise - folder and
search options - view - now untick hide file extensions for known file types - click ok. you can
now delete and replace the extension.

your media player will tell you somewhere in the options what codec the file is using, mpc and vlc
certainly do and all these .3gp files i have checked so far have been mp4.

and everyone is just happy with this having only two channel audio?

is anyone else having a problem at about the 34 minute mark?

i changed it to a mkv file format, seemed to do the trick, also the shitty thing about thhis is that
when you change the file format you in fact change the file name so it is no longer found, therefore
it won't seed,

it dosent matter. let it be and it works just find. rename it to .mkv or mp4 if you like it works as well.
you got al fold i am sorry to say. dont be so afraid to try tings out by your self and stop be so
dependent on other. be vell friends and let the sun sine on you all.

didnt even notice that the file format was diffrent, vlc runs everything anyway. why peeps insist on using
anything else but a pc/laptop and vlc is beyond me... its not hard to hook it up to ur tv...

well for my wdtv live renaming to *.mp4 didnt help.. but *.mkv did.. so rename this sucker to that
and it will run smoothly... just a little sad that its on in dd 2,0.. :/ would nice if it was 5,1..
