what hospital were they basing this show on?
every hospital i have been to is mostly indian or chinese or jewish doctors.

but this is not sci-fi! and fiction is mostly based on reality with certain setups.
to be honest i agree with phish73. this show clearly is supposed to resembel reality (a real
hospital) to some extent, but they went a little overbord by introducing black and hispanic doctors.
i mean ask yourself, would you let a doctor like that operate on you without any worries? what if he
hates whites and purposly botches the operation?
the show is placed in long beach california near la. i highly doubt you find anything but jews as
doctors in hospitals there. this is were the rich guys live.

hiring practices at all hospitals are based on performance and experience. hospitals in wealthy areas can
pay doctors better, so they probably employ better doctors. since there is no reason that african
american or hispanic men and women can't be as well qualified or as good as caucasian or jewish doctors,
there is no reason they would be less likely to be working in long beach. and no doctor who would
purposely "botch" an operation for any reason would work for long. i've had 8 surgeries and numerous
hospital stays and i've never ever met a doctor from any country or background who wasn't a professional
man or woman who cared about the outcome of their patients. wether because of compassion, concern
for professional standing, keeping score or getting raises or promotions, they have all been concerned for
my welfare. yes, there probably are more caucasian and jewish doctors working in the us right now. but
that is because rich people have better access to education, and it's harder for black and hispanic people
of lower income to get to med school. but that's actually a bad thing. no race is better suited to health
care than any other.

sheesh, even with all the crazy scifi and whacky shows on this website, this conversation is the craziest thing i have ever
seen. appearantly you can leave it to americans to actually discuss whether people of a certain colour or background are
either more or less suited for a certain job. so thankful no one would even think of that sort of stuff where i'm from, and
whomever treats me when i go to hospital, i could really care less because i know they would all have a decent education
before they got to see me as a patient. i guess the us is not that inclusive or great as some would have you believe.
