i'm not minding this ... so far. if i keep watching or not will depend on how silly the conspiracy/race-organisers part of the plot gets. dt. ps. the cars are getting better ... bit more nice flesh wouldn't go astray. |

from fox's pov the ratings were lousy but the problem is they so rarely give new shows any decent support... as several people int his thread have mentioned, the show didn't grab them at first (though it did other people) but they perservered and found themselves liking it more. perhaps if they wait a few weeks then restart from episode one, word of mouth and promotion in the interim might give the show a better chance. unfortunately, by the time word of mouth gets around that the shows gets better, it's too late for the people who gave up after the first episode or never watched it at all. |

this continues to be a rant of mine because whether people like the show or not (i do happen to like drive btw), they should still have more than 4 episodes to decide whether the show will be a hit or not. i am hopelessly addicted to 24, but i never watched a single episode until season 4. i have since not only downloaded every episode from every season, i have also purchased every season because i also like the extra features on the dvd. i am sick of these multi-million dollar networks deciding for the general public what's good and what's not after 2 or 3 episodes. where is the marketing? don't studios have to preview a show before buying it? there are occasionally great shows that come along (like heroes) that are an instant hit, but most shows require at least a full season to gain a fan base and start the momentum rolling. you can see by the comments here alone that some people loved drive and some people hated it. that should be a normal reaction in a society that has the right to an opinion. it seems that the networks are now saying that if you can't make me rich in 30 days, you're outta here! let's just keep throwing the stuff out and see what becomes a hit. another good example was daybreak (it wasn't fox tho). this was a pretty cool show and i was enjoying it. cancelled after 6 episodes. surface was another one i liked. cancelled after 8 episodes. then everyone scrambles to download the missing episodes and the networks complain that they are losing money from piracy! obviously, this is only my opinion and i don't expect anyone to agree or disagree. but these networks are not only in the business of making money, but they are also in the business of television and providing entertainment. i think when they buy a new series, they should do enough research in target markets that they can at least guarantee that they will air an entire season instead of leaving the public hanging. if the cut the show after a full season, they have at least tried. it only angers me to see a show go after 3 or 4 episodes. another new show, raines. i am really starting to enjoy this show (granted, it's not for everyone). every episode i watch, i have my fingers crossed that it will survive another week. there was a point made earlier that drive's premiere got lower ratings than reruns of house. house is a great, well established show in it's 3rd season. how can you compare the two? it just seems to be getting worse to me. shows are getting cancelled now if they are not an overnight sensation. it's becoming more sensible not to watch anything until a season is finished then download the whole season to watch. just my opinion, folks...thanks for letting me rant. |

fox is indeed like real fox... unpredictable. they have this "show few parts and cancel the rest of the show" trend. i really hate it like i hate the fox news. its same crap from beginning 'til end. o'reilly & co. etc. is a good example of crap what fox provides "throughout asia and rest of world". usa is wellknown about good news channels but fox is the top of the crap. about the series. they have some good ones yes. once you start to watch some serie - it disapperars like shiz in a wind. to eztv and guys who are running this.... thank you, thank you for the great work you do. here in thailand every serie is like "who cries more is the best" shiz. at least you guys provide some quality stuff.... peace.... dj |

the great thing about living in a country/countries that provide freedom of choice is that we have the freedom to watch what we like and avoid what we dislike. simply "axing" a show because you don't like it tells me one thing. you should be working for fox *grin*. in all seriousness though, i think fox knew they would can the show right from the start and only wanted a "filler" for a few weeks to give the impression they were giving fans something new and fresh and exciting. i think the show had all the elements of a successful series. it had humor, it had action, it had hot cars and hotter women...lol. the acting might not have been the best, although i've seen a lot worse. and hell, some of the most successful stars in the industry never won an award for their acting abilities. my only beef is that they didn't give it a chance to build a fan base. as i said before, "heroes" won an award for the best show on tv after 11 episodes...but that is the exception to the rule, not the standard that all new shows should be based upon. we should be able to sit down and watch a new show on tv without worrying every week that it will be cancelled just as we are starting to get into it. i think a good point was raised here too. if a show gets cancelled by one network, does another network have the right to pick it up? i'm not sure how that works...just asking. also, wasn't there a series not too long ago that was going to be cancelled but because of the huge fan response, they kept it? perhaps fans need to be more vocal? just my humble opinion as always. |

opinions are just that.. opinions. like i totally disagree with yours. the plot is kind of weak.. girls are not hot at all.. and it's made up of a bunch of hasbeen stars. granted, i like the guy from firefly. i will agree though.. some shows do get axed way too early. case in point, studio 60. |

god your a pretty cocky guy, first of you call your self god pretty lame. if your just gona come say bs get out. there is no point in starting crap. i thought it was good show not the greatest but had potential. they have to give shows a chance what ever happend to letting it run the season before axing it. |
