this forum has so much potential to turn into something far larger, theres a
lot of valuable knowledge shared freely quite often only to be nit-picked over
by the dullards. we are all lucky enough to be involved in a tv revolution
that most people are only just waking up to, and there's no shame in taking
things a bit more seriously and dropping the negativity instead of being all
high and mighty. i've got some great tips from this forum since i found eztv
and i'd be more willing to share my own knowledge with other like minded tv
fans if the tone was a bit friendlier at times.

that said, eztv as a site just rocks my world.

sorry to hear you leaving simon.

this thread has been derailed so far off it's original track that i personally
find it amusing how people can be attempted to be taken seriously on a forum
that distributes tv shows illegally.

because of what this site is all about the community involvement will always be
of a mix crowd with all different moral thoughts on what is
right/wrong/weird/stupid/sane/etc. due to this we will never attempt to cater
for any one side of it. i coded up these forums to allow people to have a voice
and discuss about anything, be it flame about how shit a show they think is, to
how many nuts should be sent to the execs. if anyone has any issue with it we
openly provide the door for them to go else where. if you personally have an
issue with how another member or staff posts something on these forums and
because of it makes you no longer wish to download tv shows from our site then
we shouldn't try to change your mind as it obviously seems already made up what
your plans are to do.

there is a bunch of other crap i want to say but i really couldn't be bothered
trying to determine how to word it so i'll just not bother saying it at all.

thanks for the reply novaking, i hear what you are saying, and you are
probably right to be impartial, but a lot of the regs dissapoint me in their
tone on here so i'm not gonna be posting anymore. as i said, i know for a fact
that some of the info shared on these boards is valuable knowledge to certain
people/businesses, cos ive shared it myself, its a great resource, but ruined
by idiots in my opinion. shame.

keep up the quality tv provision.

when i say illegal, in the eyes of the court, what we are doing is illegal.

i also believe what we do isn't else i wouldn't be an admin of this site.

i work in tv but still think that networks and executives are making way to much
money.
sites like this one are great.
torrents are not only great, but also a right. a right to share something you
enjoyed.
what if i watch a torrent instead of a show on tv sponsored by mac donald?!
may be torrents will force to make those "tv people" understand that it is time
to re-invent tv. by uploading and downloading i feel like i am contributing to
the necessary revolution of tv!

so now.... i got it that programs allow to create avi files. but how do people
record tv shows? using their computer? how?!

yeah, that'll win people over.

it seems like you're putting the cart in front of the horse. the last thing
anyone new to torrents should be worried about is capping their own shows. i
mean, is there some content out there that we're all missing?

there was link to a site posted a couple of months back that described how
everything works--how a tv show gets essentially gets to a torrent site. i think

read that and you'll see how silly it is to come on a site like this hoping to
contribute by capping something of your own, or even to get info on how to cap
shows. it's like asking an alter boy how they prefer to perform exorcisms.

you'll see that not too long ago, someone came in here with a post eerily
similar to yours. very positive to start and then jumps right into a question
that doesn't seem applicable for this site, seems to be digging for something
and ultimately targets the aspect of this thing that is the most underground
because it is the most illegal.

it feels like you are on a fishing expedition, but your questions cover stuff
that is not only public knowledge, but easily-accessible public knowledge, so i
don't really know what to think. at this point, if i had to guess, i'd say
you're a high school student writing a short essay for school.

i started/founded/began (whatever term azriel won't get his knickers in a twist
over) eztv and i did it with lots and lots of help by trusting people.

i want to be telling everyone that there isn't any gain in being a bastard but
now i feel compelled to be one myself.

how about the first person starting negativity in a thread be told off in
private, so if you see someone being an arse unlike being an arse yourself like
i'm being here simply pm them and ask them to cut it out.

better to answer a stupid question than have pages of flaming because someone
couldn't give a decent answer.

i've posted to the forum plenty and only most recently mentioned that and only
now because the cooperation and trust i found allowed eztv to exit, it took
trust from what must be 100 or more people (that number seems high but 50 sounds
far too low)

hey tvfan, your attacking me for what reason? i was just saying that people
shouldn't attack people and you have to go attack me.

i guess the world occurs for people through their own filters and expectations
which help create self fulfilling prophesy.



tvfan, please tell me which different subjects i have posted in about az, i'd

i haven't attacked az.

go read the dark materials thread (to which i made probably 3 posts), the only
thread in which i mentioned how i started eztv or addressed az and see who
attacked who.

i simply corrected az that it wasn't his vision that launched eztv (initially as
he joined a way in or alone as there were many critical to eztv's success).
az in large part due to having been already flustered attacked me and you can go
and read that.

i promoted azriel and said what a huge part he played but pointed out it wasn't
a one man job (he does deserve full credit for making it real and without him it
might not have got off the ground), the only thing that i said that could be
considered an attack is when i mentioned that he tried to kill eztv at times but
that's not an attack it's just the truth.

azriel did attack me however if you read that thread.

i didn't even say he shouldn't have released the dark materials audiobook but
did indicate that imo he shouldn't give more than a taste as eztv wasn't started
to indiscriminately violate copyrights.

the only person i have attacked is n3l87.

n3l87, you are of course free to be offensive but all it does is create long
stupid threads like this one so to reduce wasted time, feelings, bandwidth
etc... it's generally best not to make an offensive post if you can help it and
besides such people come off far worse than the the person who asked a possibly
stupid question not that you care what anyone thinks of you. (i suppose it makes
you feel good or else why would you do it but it's not helpful or clever)

and no i'm no longer an op as i left years ago, i wasn't trying to make you
listen to me because i have power to ban you, i was hoping to coerce you into
not being the forum pitbull.
