it is a valid point, but he made 2 mistakes. 1. he assumed the admins did not already know about it, which is somewhat shortsighted. 2. he starts of talking shit about a site that sees no revenue at all from his presence. even if he seeds his downloads 1 to 1 that is never going to beat the effort put into the rest (unless he's got an man-sized internet cable running out of his house). usually forums don't feed the trolls and close the thread, especially as there has already been an announcement telling people to prefer the 2nd given link. t. |

my fix for the bt pop-ups is to race the pop-up. click the download torrent button faster than the pop-up comes up. if u r to late click back button and try again! also...... i have a awful feeling that torrents are going the way of demoniod. if i would have known demoniod was going to die i would have gotten everything i wanted before hand. so..........whats next? probably nothing. programs like "vista" are implementing updates that will tattle on you for torrenting. or just not let you watch your movie. i honestly think its worth checking into a motel for a day or two to eat up all their bandwidth, to get everything u want thats over your connection's limit. i havent paid for internet for years and dont plan to,.... hint ...... get your laptops antenna on the out side of your rig, then...................... connect a damn dish network dish up to the damn thing....... i think ive said to much...... |

solution to all the problems with bt-chat that has been going on lately. just make the mininova links the main links for each torrent and then just change the mininova links from tor to get for example make all the mininova links from this: http://www.mininova.org/tor/1119506 ![]() to this: http://www.mininova.org/get/1119506 ![]() and the torrents will start the download right away as its a direct link to download the torrent file from mininova without even having to be fowarded to the mininova download page. just change the main link to what i described above instead of linking to bt- chat. you can always keep the bt-chat links as mirror #2 incase mininova is ever down. ive spoken to 1 of the admins on the mininova forum and they have no problem with this. admin : removed the thread as it was duplicating this info to keep it in the same pleace and avoid doubling up threads |

because you really have no idea what you are talking about then... i download the file elsewhere. then come to eztv grab what ever the popular link is and download that torrent file, which then scans the allready finished file on my pc and starts seeding. and yes that is seeding for eztv as much as any other site, since i only due it for eztv torrents no matter who they use for a tracker. there for telling me i share back to 1:1 is useless. cause its usually more like "infinite type number:1" my main concern was not for myself. but for those who do not have the knowledge to protect them selves from these harassing advertisments. an di know they are working on it, but do not understand why the bt link has simply not been removed. |

wait if you know them, do you happen to know if they'll take the pop-ups and virus problems off any time soon? or are they there to stay. |

i downloaded from bt chat day before yesterday. i received so much crap, i have to reinstall windows. i call that a virus. xxywtuv.dll, some more crap like vundo, yazzle, core.cache.dsk, etc. all that installed before i could hit the download button. i still get a search popup. the link that santabj gave does not work for me-it does nothing, goes nowhere. i love eztv. i do however feel that they should not use bt chat as a mirror until bt chat gets it's act together. if they claim that it is the ad company's fault- they need to change ad companies. i go to a lot of sites, and i don't get a virus from them. |

our site (bt-chat) has been mirror 1 for a long time now. our change in site was necessary in order to pay our bills. the popup has always been there, just that sites like eztv were getting direct linked torrents to our site, which was causing bandwidth but no traffic to our ads to pay for that extra bandwidth. in a few months when we build up enough cash to cover the server, the popups will be again removed like we always do when we don't need them. so please just bare with us...it's only one popup, which should happen only once per session (as it does with me), otherwise it could be a browser problem and we'll look on setting this session limit server side ourselves. there are no spyware and trojans in our ads. if there so happens to be, please report it at the following address: http://www.paypopup.com/adreport.php?username=btchat ![]() anyone that knows us well, knows that we have always fully supported eztv the best we can, and have even hosted their site, and our own tracker for them to use in the past. if you don't want to deal with our site now, then use the mininova mirror, but please understand our circumstances also that we need to cover server costs. we did a poll on bt-chat months ago, asking if users wanted to donate and have ad free browsing, or have ads and no donating, and ads won by a landslide ;p we're trying our best to provide what we can, and with our newer server that was needed to handle things, we again need to cover more costs. i hope most people can understand this. thanks for everyones support. - bt-chat team |

you know, i don't really care about bt chat or mininova because i usually use mininova. i just stated my experience with the bt chat mirror. i am not a liar, i am not ignorant when it comes to downloading or computers, and i know what i clicked on. regardless of what bt chat or any other person claims, i got a virus when i clicked on the bt chat mirror. it immediately loaded after the click on (1) directed me to bt chat's website to click on the download button. i did not click on anything, not even the download button because it did not even give me time to do so. this was on a brand new reformatted machine, connecting to eztv and the internet for the first time. i repeat myself- i think that eztv should be responsible and at the very least inform us when they use a mirror that contains such crap. mininova doesn't have such crap, why use bt chat? i think that everyone on this board that replied to my post seems to forget that at one time they too were "noobs" and it would be nice if they contributed in educating others without assuming that everyone who writes on this is ignorant. |

we have no need to assume you are ignorant - you make the case for it perfectly adequately without our assistance. arrogant and ignorant - what a winning combination. i started off this post in a more moderate fashion, pointing out where you went wrong, but halfway through thought "fuck it - what am i doing ? this idiot's just not worth the effort" |
