i love the show too! i haven't seen the uk version, but i'm not interested. in my experiences with
british television, i find them to be quite dry....love shameless us! thank you eztv! :-)
i've got the entire uk version. it's an excellent series. i could hardly even stand to watch the us
trailers. it looks like they're going to use the same dialogue verbatim which just sounds weird.
david threlfall has been working up to the roll of frank gallagher for decades. i like william h.
macy but in rolls that are right for him. i'm pretty sure the american version is going to be bad.
the original is dark and depressing because it's so close to being real. "shameless" is england and
vise versa. the writers of shameless (the original) are from england and have said that they are
writing about their own youth. i'd bet a dollar to a dime that the american version is going to
push way too hard on the drama in between jokes. i'll be surprised if it even makes it to the second
season. the people who really like the original are going to hate the american version of
"shameless". i imagine on the average they'll watch one, maybe two episodes before switching the
boob-tube back to "the king of queens". remember...there's no laugh track pasted over "shameless".
half the audience is already going to be confused because they aren't going to know when to laugh.
