hrmmm. not a fan. too much contrast - very hard on the eyes. also - post# text overlapping top of username pm button when replying to a post. why make those sort of links look like tabs, btw ? peculiar and non-intuitive choice. on the subject of `tabs` ... why make the main navigation tab row obey followed link colour rules ? another odd choice. also - topic title in thread view ... white on pale baby blue ? really ? also - mouseover highlighting still doesn't work in ie and variants. this is not related to the new design - it's never worked. just thought i'd mention it while i'm here ![]() this is a more urgent issue now that there's no alternate line colouration. |

i like it! i also expect that this is a work in progress. i think that overall this looks kinda like ubuntu meets mac. feisty tiger? dig the beige and can't wait to see the rest of baby blue gone! i like the tabbed look but, i also like windowblinds... sure there's still some spacing and overlapping issues but, they'll probably hammer those out in time. stupidity should hurt, so pass the vicodin. |

howdy everyone. i thought i'd step in here and just mention that the current design was a style i was experimenting with in the 'my page' section before the styles were disabled. i'll address a few points. 1. tabs mess up at the top and go over to the next line. this was a problem i had with the original design. i could only give each button the same width as they were all under the same class, and the image used is a background-image, which can't be stretched to fit. basically, any smaller and the tab got cut off early. the reason some of the links are also tabs, is because they are using the same class in css, there was nothing i could do about that and i'd spoke to boggi about changing some of the link class names but i think i remember him saying something along the lines of being pretty busy and would have a look into it at a later date. 2. colours/contrast is hurting my eyes i agree. the colour scheme wasn't something i was working on when i stopped working on it, i pretty much spent my time on the tabs. 3. why make tabs follow link colour rules? the design took inspiration from firefox's tabs, something i was messing with before i decided to implement it into an eztv css style, i couldn't (without hard-coding something into the actual design of eztv) implement a way to give the feel of a selected tab over a tab in the background (so to speak), that was the best i could come up with, with css only. 4. tv news navigation tabs move onto a new line same as above. the tv links second-row navigation uses the same link class names as the main navigation. i'd be happy to work with the design a little when i have more time, i honestly had no idea it was being used on the site as the main design or i would've worked harder and ironed out all of the little things talked about here. |

it's definitely too white and bright. that's why my wallpaper is always dark and definitely not bright. and the gree row looks totally out of place. |

theres a couple of elements that dont have the new style stuff applied to em, like this create new post page actually. heh. saw this style earlier though at the same time i did mine, like the menu tabs at the top. also: any reason i cant use the style i created anymore ? it hasnt worked for over a week now i think ![]() |

i really like the design of the site. the tabs look and feel great to look at work with but the color scheme really needs some work done to it... |

i like the color very much. and i am sure i will love this just the same as the old design as i get used to it. the only thing i don't like is how the name of the poster is placed like a button that looks exactly the same as the reply and quote button. however i do appreciate the practicality of it, now that the site has a pm system. great job on that! oh.. and the logo is kick-ass! |

i've played with the design and tried to spruce it up a little, adressing most of the points made here. i think it looks alot better than it did a few hours ago, there's just a few little things that are difficult to change without individual class names. |

wow that was quick! top page tabs are fine. separator fade effect is nice and cleanly separates posts. the grey-fade is nice, way better than the blue. the font is perfect. but wow that was quick, specially with the tab problem in the way. what's next, avatars? lol! |

good work - the changes seem to be coming along nicely, and are definitely improving matters. i'll hold off on further comment till you've had some more breathing space - it's completely unfair to break your balls over a design you had no idea was going to be rolled out in a half finished state and without crucial access to underlying site architecture ![]() |
